Lower School helps American Red Cross

Lower School students, faculty and parents raised more than $3,000 in disaster relief support for the American Red Cross. The School accomplished this in three ways: Students were asked to contribute from their own resources, whether from their allowance, savings, or by earning money in some way; parents contributed to the Red Cross through the Lower School; and students bought T-shirts for $10 (60 percent of the sales went to the American Red Cross). Lower School parent Jo Orr coordinated the T-shirt sales. “ This was a great community effort by our entire Lower School family, “ Lower School Principal Mark Tayloe explained. “The children, especially, felt they were making a significant contribution since they were contributing from their own resources.”
