Lower School artists compete for best program cover

The Fine Arts Department has recognized 20 Lower School students for their artwork. They submitted the art for a contest to design the program for the department’s upcoming production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella.

The contest was open to all Lower School students and was judged by members of the Upper School arts faculty. The winning entry receives four tickets to the Cinderella performance of their choice as well as a movie party with 12 tickets, popcorn, and drinks. Runners-up receive two tickets each to the play, and Honorable Mention winners receive one ticket each.

The winner of the contest is Grace Welborn, first grade. Runners-up were Jacqelyn Johnson, fifth; Morgan Pollard, third; and Avani Reddy, fourth. Students receiving honorable mention were Abbie Brester, fifth; Katie Brewster, fourth; Bailey Brock, third; Charlotte Burns, fifth; Hunter Davis, fifth; Allie Duckworth, third; Lizzy Gilbert, fourth; William Gilbert, fifth; Emily Grizzard, fifth; Margaret Hjort, fifth; Chris Hubbard, third; Samantha Ortega, third; Maggie Smith, fifth; Camille Temples, third; Jack Tunnell, first; and Devon Watson, fifth.
