Local firefighters train at Darlington

In order to insure that they are in line with national safety requirements, approximately 150 local firefighters are participating in a three-day training program (July 5-7) at Darlington’s Huffman Center, coordinated by Advanced Rehabilitation, according to Curt Pierson with the Rome City Fire Department.
Principle staff members involved from Advanced Rehabilitation include Sherri Burrell, industrial rehabilitation director; Chad White, owner; and Anne Felts, athletic trainer and individual rehabilitation employee.
Felts said they will be assessing flexibility, strength and vertical group height. Activites involve push ups, bench press, sit ups, long jump and a 1.5-mile timed run. “We performed hearing exams and other tests previous to this three-day revolve,” she said.
Darlington Chief Financial Officer Bob Rogers noted that the School was happy to act as host site for this community event.
