Lawrence ('16), Walker ('16) selected for GACA All-State football team

Darlington seniors Landon Lawrence and Jake Walker have been named to the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association (GACA) AA All-State team in football. Selections for the team were made by region champion coaches from across the state.

In December, both athletes earned All-Region 7-AA accolades for defense.
 
During his final season, linebacker Landon Lawrence amassed 94 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, one sack and three fumble recoveries, and caused four fumbles. In January, the senior was selected as a Rome News-Tribune area high school football Player of the Year. He has also been honored with a spot on the AA All-State team. 

In addition to defense, tight end Jake Walker was also recognized on the All-Region 7-AA team for offense. During his last season, he completed four touchdowns and 21 receptions over 389 yards.

Both men have committed to play football for the United States Air Force Academy Preparatory School upon graduation.

Highlights from their season at Darlington included a Region 7-AA championship title, and the Tigers' first 10-0 regular streak since 1998.
