Lacrosse players earn All-State recognition

Two varsity lacrosse players have received All-State recognition. The teams were selected by votes from the coaches of the 16 playoff teams in the AAAA-A classification.
William Waters has been named First Team Midfielder. A senior, he tied the school record in goals per season this year with 60. He also had 17 assists. Waters averaged 4.3 goals and 1.2 assists per game. He also won 162 of 236 faceoffs, giving him a winning percentage of 69. In 2009, he earned Second Team All-State recognition. He is also a member of Team Georgia. Waters is the son of Kathy and Eric Waters of Rome.
Joey Watters has been named Third Team Attackman. Also a senior, he scored 46 goals and had seven assists this season, which averages to 3.3 goals and .5 assists per game. He is also a member of Team Georgia. Watters is the son of Tracy and Joe Watters of Rome.
