The college admission process officially began in earnest for all juniors on Feb. 4 and 5 with the College Night Program featuring UGA Admission Director Nancy McDuff and the sixth College Meeting. McDuff and Associate Headmaster Sam Moss addressed a number of college admission procedures and issues. On Feb. 19 juniors will put in their requests for college advisors. The first formal group meeting with the newly assigned college advisees will take place on Feb. 21, and the college advisors will meet individually with their advisees throughout the spring. Juniors are urged to take the initiative in making appointments with their college advisor and are reminded that it is their responsibility to do so.

“By early June, all juniors should have developed a list of a number of colleges that they will visit during the summer,” said Moss. Doing thorough college research early in the spring and visiting campuses over the spring and summer will enable the juniors to develop a definite list of colleges to which they will apply. “This is the critical time for juniors and their parents to do the research. If they put lots of thought and effort into the process now, the senior year will be much less stressful for them,” said Moss.
