Junior selected for Governor’s Honors Program

Junior Ali Terrell has been selected to participate in the Georgia Governor’s Honors Program this summer at Valdosta State University. She will focus her attention on biology through projects, seminars and research. Classmate Esa Sofian will be an alternate in the area of social studies.
Governor’s Honors is a six-week summer educational program designed to provide the intellectually gifted and artistically talented high school students of Georgia challenging and enriching educational opportunities not usually available during the regular school year. Activities are designed to provide each participant with opportunities to acquire the skills, knowledge and attitudes to become independent, lifelong learners.
Rising juniors and seniors in Georgia’s public and private high schools may be nominated by their teachers.
Terrell is the daughter of Shelli and Tracy Terrell of Cartersville, Ga. Sofian is the daughter of Julita Roesli and Erwin Sofian of Rockmart, Ga.
