Darlington needs to raise approximately $300,000 in new or increased gifts by June 30 to meet the Annual Fund goal this year. The Annual Fund is vital to the operation of the School providing approximately 10 percent or 10 cents of every dollar spent.
“A successful Annual Fund is imperative if Darlington is to continue increasing teachers’ salaries,” Mary Norton, gift officer for annual giving, explained. “Darlington is under-endowed compared to our peer schools. Having less endowment income, we therefore depend heavily on Annual Fund gifts to subsidize the operating budget. The Annual Fund is the most fundamental way each of us may help Darlington provide the quality people and programs to challenge our students.”
For those who would like to take the opportunity to make a gift to the Annual Fund, contact Norton at mnorton@darlingtonschool.org or 706-236-0408.
