Johnson named director of admission

Darlington is pleased to announce that Stormy Stephens Johnson has been named director of admission. She has served the School since 2005 as associate director of admission for boarding.
“After reviewing the work of the search committee, I feel very fortunate to have had a candidate of Stormy’s qualifications available to us right here on Darlington’s campus. Her leadership qualities stood out in the search, along with her ability to connect with people and promote a professional, credible environment,” said Headmaster Tom Whitworth. “Stormy lives our mission; she has immersed herself in the culture of our school; and she is helping us to meet the goals of our strategic plan for Darlington’s future. She’s got the drive, the energy and the will to succeed, and I have no doubt that she will be extremely effective at attracting outstanding, mission-appropriate students to Darlington School at all grade levels.”
Johnson holds a bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University. Prior to her employment at Darlington, she served as associate director of admission at Oglethorpe University and assistant director of admission and coordinator of multicultural recruitment at both Agnes Scott College and Vanderbilt University.
“I am thrilled about the opportunity to serve as Darlington’s next director of admission,” said Johnson. “Darlington is a great school, but there simply aren’t enough people out there who know about us. My goal is to serve as the ambassador – internally and externally – for recruiting the best, most appropriate students to our school community.”
