Darlington senior Jeff Hortman is a Morehead Scholar finalist. Darlington faculty members chose Hortman as the Darlington Morehead scholar nominee during spring, 2001. Since Hortman survived many levels of committee screenings, he will interview before a Central Selection Committee during Morehead Final Selection Weekend in October at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC).
If selected as a Morehead Scholar, Hortman will be awarded a full undergraduate merit scholarship that includes four years of tuition and expenses at UNC as well as a fully funded summer enrichment program that supplements academic study with off-campus travel and experience.
