Christmas has arrived early for Darlington’s Georgia GOAL Scholarship recipients! As of today, we have over $500,000 in GOAL commitments, and the forms continue to pile in.

Many thanks to the parents, alumni, grandparents and friends who have supported the GOAL Scholarship initiative. You are truly making a difference in the lives of young people.

If you haven’t already heard about the Georgia GOAL Scholarship program, it works like this. Georgia residents or anyone who pays state taxes in this state can redirect their Georgia state tax dollars to help fund tuition assistance for students entering a participating independent school. The donation to GOAL qualifies for a charitable tax deduction on your federal tax return and will also generate a tax credit on your Georgia tax return. It’s a win-win!

It’s not too late to participate. The Georgia Department of Revenue is continuing to accept applications. I encourage you to speak with your accountant about this opportunity. Any amount will help make a difference for new Darlington students.

I am delighted to assist you in filling out and filing your paperwork, or you can do it yourself. If you have any questions, please call or email me.

Many thanks for your support!  Best wishes for a wonderful holiday season!
