Historic Rome: Faculty Study History of Rome and Floyd County

Lower School faculty members Lola Bradshaw, Charla Brewster, Reatha Carroll, Jennie Glover, Becky Kellerman, Elaine Smith, and Ann Sommerville, and Upper School art instructor Kathy O’Mara participated in a Rome History Museum workshop June 14-18. During the week-long event, Darlington, Rome City, and Floyd County teachers explored historical areas in Floyd County and delved into the history of downtown Rome. Much of the information and materials the teachers received will be shared with their students in the classroom to help connect them with their history. The planning and funding of the workshop were made possible by the Georgia Trust for Historic preservation in Atlanta.
