Henson earns Eagle Scout award

Brett Henson put his budding landscaping skills to good use and earned an Eagle Scout award in late November for his efforts. He designed, prepared, and planted large landscaped areas at two different trailheads for the Yadkin River Greenway Council in Wilkes County, N.C.
A local landscaper served as his mentor and the Scouts in Troop 336, North Wilkesboro Presbyterian Church, assisted him in the work. The two areas not only beautify the trail, but also provide a habitat for birds and wildlife along the Greenway trail.
Henson, who is from North Wilkesboro, N.C., attends Boy Scout Camp Raven Knob and was selected for Order of the Arrow this past summer. He is a member of Darlington's Bergen House.
