Harris House Kicks It Into High Gear

The Harris House now owns flag football rights on campus after having defeated Gibbons House earlier in the year. In a decision to renew the kickball rivalry that previously existed as Persons Hall vs. Trippeer Hall, Gibbons House challenged the Harris House. A very intense match on the Chapel Lawn took place on Feb. 19.
The Harris House (formerly Persons House) wanted to avenge last year’s loss to Trippeer by defeating the Gibbons House, but it did not come easily. Both teams started off a bit shaky and there was not a dull moment during the game due to the good-natured taunting between the teams.
This included the four-on-one attempted takedown of Charlotte Baker after she unintentionally ran into Gibbon’s first baseman, Ryan Randles. The rules did not apply and even five-year old Emily Gibbons, daughter of Head of Gibbons House Mindy Gibbons, rounded the bases during the game.
Cheering on the Harris House from the sideline was Head of Harris House Lori Harris and her daughters, Jordan and Kasie Purpura, and members from brother Steadman House.
