Griggs earns STAR for Rome

For achieving Darlington's highest SAT score among seniors in the top 10 percent of his class, Dax Griggs has been selected as Darlington's STAR Student for 2001-2002. In addition, Griggs was named the STAR student for Rome City. The Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program was established by the Professional Association of Georgia Educators, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, and the Georgia Department of Education in order to reward student excellence in scholastics and to allow students to acknowledge the teacher most inspiring for them.

Griggs chose Upper School physics instructor Donald Sweeney his STAR teacher.
