Griffeth follows Neville as dean of students

When Gordon Neville, associate headmaster and dean of students, retires at the end of this school year, he will leave behind 42 years of dedicated work for his alma mater. He will hand the reins to one of his roles, dean of students, over to Greg Griffeth, head of Griffeth House.
In announcing Neville’s departure, Headmaster David Rhodes said, “He has done a tremendous job as dean of students for the past 10 years and I will personally miss him very much. His commitment to Darlington and its students is unprecedented.”
Griffeth will begin his role as dean of students with the 2004-05 school year. He came to Darlington as a faculty member in the Science Department teaching AP Biology, Chemistry, and Environmental Science for seven years. He also coached JV football and track for the first three years. For the past four years, he has served as head of Griffeth House.
With a bachelor’s degree in biology form the University of Georgia and a master’s degree in biology from Vanderbilt University, Griffeth is currently pursuing a master’s degree in private school leadership at Columbia University.
