Click here to read the Nov. 4 Rome News-Tribune article about the upcoming state cross country meets. Six local teams along with seven individuals qualified for the state meet by placing in the top four teams or top six individual spots at last week’s region meets. Team wise, Darlington’s boys and girls qualified for the Class A meet while Rockmart and Model’s boys along with Coosa and Calhoun’s girls qualified for the Class AA meet. Of all the local teams, Darlington’s girls, the defending Class A champions, probably have the highest expectations going into Saturday’s meet.
