Each year the Darlington Parents Association provides funds for faculty grants. The funds, which are raised from the Spring Auction, are dispersed to faculty members on a competitive basis according to which faculty proposals are likely to make the greatest impact in the classroom. This year’s grants will send several teachers to destinations around the world.

The following teachers have been selected for grants:

Fran Buice (math), for math studies at West Georgia College; Mark Hoven (English), for travel to Middlebury College in Vermont to attend the Bread Loaf School of English; Randa Mixon (French), for travel and study with “Stage Intensifs de la Langue Francaise,” a study-travel group in France, and for the American Association of Teachers of French conference in Paris; Kevin Purpura (history), for graduate studies this summer; and Ken Wempe (English), for a self-directed study of English grammar.
