Golf: Local teams looking for ticket to state

Click here to read the May 5 Rome News-Tribune article about the varsity golf team's quest to compete at state. The Tigers will hit the links today at the GHSA sectional golf tournaments in the hopes of earning a ticket to the state tournament in Augusta on May 19.
Darlington’s boys' team placed fourth in the Area 4A Private Tournament, earning their spot in today’s sectional tournament. Lauri Hacklin led the Tigers at area with a 74. Other Darlington golfers include Vraj Patel, Josh Buttshaw, Daniel Morris, Alex Russell and Benedict Scherer. The Tigers will be competing at Eagle’s Brook Golf Club in Locust Grove.
Darlington’s girls' team qualified for the state tournament after winning area.
