Girls Track Competes at State

Seven girls track team members competed at the state meet in Albany, Ga., May 4-6.
Securing an impressive season end with her performance, Lindsay Harbin earned a second place state title in the 3200m with a time of 12:12. Courtney Williams earned fourth-place status in the 800m, with a time of 2:30.
Kirby Cross placed seventh in the 1600m and Joyce Sweeney placed seventh in the 800m. Charlotte Baker placed eighth in the shot put. Meggie Erwin competed in the high jump where she earned a tenth-place finish. Beth Mooney competed at state level in the long jump and 100m dash.
“The girls competed well,” said Rob Davis, assistant track coach. “We’re excited about taking the girls back next year, but we hate to say good-bye to senior Beth Mooney.”
