The Middle School completed a successful fundraiser thanks to the dedication and abilities of top class sellers John Doohan, sixth grade, Elizabeth Buice, seventh grade, and Andrew Smith, eighth grade who each earned a $100 prize for selling the most discount cards in their classes. As added sells incentives, students who sold five or more cards earned a free Stucco Day on Friday, Sept. 20 and those who sold 10 or more cards were eligible for $25 gift drawings.

“With the proceeds from last year’s fundraiser we purchased Accelerated Reading books,” Middle School faculty member and head of the fundraiser Nancy Ivester explained. “We haven’t decided where the money will be used this year but we know that it will benefit Middle School programs. With the economy in the situation it is in and with recent budget cuts, the money certainly will be put to good use.”

There are a few cards still available for purchase, cost $12. The discount cards are good until October 1, 2003 and offer discounts to many local restaurants and businesses. For more information contact Nancy Ivester at nivester@darlingtonschool.
