The last two weeks of the school year will be a busy time for everyone. This week, the students are celebrating Spirit Week. Our Field Day and Cookout is Friday May 20. We hope you will come out and support our teams! This year’s theme is “The Pirates are Coming” and the T-shirts represent the spirit of this annual event for the children. Thank you to Cammie Temple and her team of moms and dads who have prepared a challenging and exciting morning of events.

Just a reminder: This Friday is an early release day starting at 11:45 a.m. Extended Day is available from 11:30 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. Please let Alice and Jackie know if you will need this service.

The Gently Used Uniform sale is underway and will continue through May 24. Sally Scarbrough and her team are anxious to move the inventory. Thank you, Sally, for sponsoring this event for us! Also, thank you to all our parent volunteers who deserve a huge round of applause for supporting us and supporting all the programs offered this year through Tiger Pride.

Kudos to our outgoing leadership team of Lauren Sklar, Kathleen Hughes, Scarlet Roberts, Susan Herring and Lauren Brewster. We are so fortunate to have three of the five members of the team returning this fall. The two new members are Stacy Albers and Sally Scarbrough.

Our Tiger Pride Leadership Team for 2011-12 will be:
President: Kathleen Hughes
Vice President: Sally Scarbrough
Secretary: Scarlett Roberts
Treasurer: Stacy Albers
Chaplain: Lauren Brewster

Congratulations to our new officers and thank you to all the moms and dads who volunteered to help us on Late Start Days this year. As we prepare for the next school year, Tiger Pride’s goal is to include as many parents as possible in our programs by recruiting as many volunteers. Your time and expertise is needed.

The Spirit of Volunteering

Over the years, Tiger Pride parents have led the way at Darlington School with their leadership involvement, creativity, ability to raise money, and contribution of time to benefit the programs and activities that support the children and classroom teachers. We are grateful that our parents are willing to support any and all endeavors that enhance their child’s experience at Darlington, we invite you and look forward to your participation next year. Your partnership with Tiger Pride endeavors are appreciated, valued and needed. Please get involved!
