We look forward to having our moms on campus Friday morning from 7:45 to 8:45 a.m. during our annual Muffins for Moms event. Refreshments will be served in the gym followed by visits to the classrooms starting at 8:15 a.m. If a mom cannot attend, please feel free to invite any family member or friend (female or male). Parking will be available on Little Tiger Field, weather permitting.

Test results from the CTP4 for grades 1-4 will be sent home this week.

Spirit Week is scheduled for the week of May 16. Our family cookout will be held on Friday, May 20. All family members and friends are cordially invited. Tickets are available for purchase in the office through May 16; please see Suzanne. The cost for the lunch is $4 and will include hot dogs, hamburgers and all the fixin’s. The picnic will be held on Little Tiger Field. The theme for this year’s Field Day is “The Pirates are Coming.” Please note that Friday, May 20, is an early dismissal day.

Gently Used Uniform Sale will take place May 17-24. The drop-off date for uniforms is May 16. Parents may purchase in the morning after drop-off and in the afternoon before dismissal. The sale starting on May 17 will be held in the gym. This is a great opportunity to purchase uniforms at a great price.

The CRBI Environmental Bowl will take place this Saturday at the new ECO River Education Center at Ridge Ferry Park in Rome. This competition is for all fourth-grade students in the city and county schools, both public and private. This program educates our students about the ecology and diversity of the three rivers that run through Rome. This year’s team includes Amelia Allen, Aiden Buzzetti, Jack Eady, Elliot Kinney, Rhett McDurmon, Caroline Nida, Tejas Reddy and Nicolas Seijo. We congratulate our team and wish them success in the competition.

Our leadership team for Tiger Pride is putting together the slate for next year’s officers. If you are interested in serving in any capacity, please contact Lauren Sklar or Kathleen Hughes. Committee sign-ups for next year will be available in Thornwood by Wednesday, May 3.

There will be no Late Start on May 4, but we will have two more this month – May 11 and May 18. We thank our parents for supporting this valuable time for our faculty.

Please mark your calendar for the following important dates. The Second Grade Play will be held on May 10 at 2 p.m. On May 17, the Battle of the Strings will take place, an Annie Camp production. This performance will showcase our Strings Program from grades 1-12. On May 24, pre-K students will present their play at 10:30 a.m. in the gym. Our Awards Assembly will be held on the last day of school, May 26, at 10:30 a.m. in the gym. Parents and friends are cordially invited to all of these events.

Summer Camp opportunities are available for children at all grade levels. All of the information is available at www.darlingtonschool.org/summer. Space is limited and many of our camps fill up quickly, so please do not delay!
