The holiday season is here and we have several events planned that you do not want to miss!

Our families are cordially invited to Morris Chapel on Sunday, Dec. 3, at 7 p.m., for the Festival of Lessons and Carols and the Lighting of the Great Tree. The long-standing tradition is a beautiful way to kick off the Christmas season.

A special thanks to the moms who did a fantastic job, as always, in decorating Tiger Hall for our annual Thanksgiving Feast. Thanks also to Darlington’s dining service for the scrumptious meal served to students, faculty, parents and guests. It was heartwarming to see so many of our families, including grandparents and relatives, come out to eat with the children.

Please mark your calendar for Toys for Tots on Dec. 3 at 10:30 a.m. The students will walk to the Primary Circle to present their unwrapped toys and gifts to the local Marine Corps representatives. The toys and gifts will be donated to local families in need. We thank all of our families for their generosity and response to the community (one of our 6 R’s).

The Angel Tree Project is now underway, also benefitting local families. The tree is set up in Tiger Hall. Each family is encouraged to select an ornament which displays a “wish list” of items to be purchased. There is a sign-up sheet under the tree where the parents should write their name and the corresponding number from the ornament. All gifts must be wrapped with the identifying number placed on the packages and returned no later than Tuesday, Dec. 14, by 10 a.m. We have approximately 60 families to assist this year and we thank you, in advance, for your participation.

Late Start for Dec. 1 will be a Lower School faculty meeting at 7:30 a.m. Dec. 8 will be the school-wide faculty meeting on the main campus, beginning at 7 a.m.

The Christmas Feast is scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 15. Tickets are $4 each and they may be purchased from the school office on or before Dec. 10.

Last, the Pre-K, K and Pre-First Christmas Program is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 14, at 10 a.m. The Grades 1-4 Christmas Program will be held Thursday, Dec. 16, at 7 p.m. Both programs will take place in the gym, and we cordially invite all of our families and friends to attend!
