Fourth-Graders Make Their Own Space

The fourth grade science classes recently presented their science project and reports on space to their classmates under the direction of Lola Bradshaw, Lower School science teacher. To elaborate, the students made models of the solar system, star formations, constellations, rockets, and spacecraft. Some of their projects were edible and others were visual posters and dioramas.
Along with the project, each student was required to write a research paper on the topic of his or her project. With the help of Cheryl Matthews, Lower School computer skills instructor, and Ann Glass, Lower School librarian, the students researched their topics on the Internet and in the library during library class.
The class was pleased to have Mark Tayloe, Lower School principal; Mark Alber, Upper School science department chair; and Phil Titus, former Upper School biology teacher, in the audience during their presentations.
