Fourth-grade Baseball Fans Present “The Inside Pitch”

The fourth-grade Darlington Singers debuted their spring production, The Inside Pitch, during the Fine Arts Festival, Friday, April 16. The performance, also presented to the Lower School, Friday, April 30, contained eight songs written in a variety of styles.
Taking a look at America’s favorite pastime, baseball, the story involves a study group who are writing a report on the history of baseball and end up getting caught up in the drama and suspense that accompanies the sport.
“I have known for some time that this class would be involved in a musical with baseball as a theme. There are so many baseball enthusiasts among our fourth-grade students,” said Diane Lumpkin, director of the production.
