Football: Preliminary power rankings show Darlington, Trion in Class A playoffs

Because Class A is divided into public and private school playoffs for football, the rankings determine the seeding for the top 16 teams in the playoffs. Darlington currently sits at No. 6, but two teams below the Tigers in the rankings, Calvary Day and Prince Avenue Christian, each won region titles. Region champions are seeded first and then the remainder of the field is determined from the rankings.
If this holds, Darlington would drop two spots to No. 8 and likely play host to Christian Heritage on Friday Nov. 22. This would be a rematch of the game the two teams played earlier in the season, where the Tigers had to rally late to win.
