Will Edwards, A.J. Evans, Anna Krueger, Ross Rhoades and Brandon Waid will represent Darlington School in High School Leadership Rome XVIII, sponsored by the Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce (GRCC).

“The program was designed to promote leadership in our community and also to educate young minds on the different aspects of the Rome area,” said Brooks Mathis, director of communications for GRCC. “Students are selected based on their academic achievement, extracurricular involvement and leadership both on their school campus and in the community.“

Topics of interest will include law and government, healthcare, economic development and transportation, education, and industry/business and media.

Krueger said she is looking forward to meeting new people and having fun while learning. “I wanted to broaden my perspective on career opportunities within the Rome community and also use [High School Leadership Rome] as a tool to find my interests for a future job,” she said. “I hope to gain a more in-depth knowledge of the different careers and businesses in Rome and to learn more about what it means to be a true leader.”

Edwards said he looks forward to representing Darlington in the program. “In joining High School Leadership Rome, I hope to gain better leadership skills … It will also be a great chance for me to meet new friends from schools outside of Darlington.”
