Five named to All-State Lacrosse teams

Two senior girls and three junior boys were named to the All-State Lacrosse teams.
Leslie Beninato, who was named to the Girls' First Team, is the daughter of Dr. John and Barb Beninato of Rome. As the Tigers' goalie, she had 219 saves this season with a save percentage of 59.836. She was named Team Defensive Player of the Year for 2006, and holds the school record for saves in a game (34) and saves in a season (219). Beninato was named First Team All-State in 2004 and 2005 as well as Team Georgia Goalie in 2004 and 2005.
Brittni Dulaney, who was named to the Girls' Second Team, is the daughter of Brian and Theresa Dulaney of Rome. A midfielder and the captain of this year's team, Dulaney had 89 goals and 33 assists this season. She was named Team MVP in 2004, 2005 and 2006; Team Offensive Player of the Year in 2005 and 2006; First Team All-State in 2005; and U.S. Lacrosse Academic All-American in 2005. She holds the school record for goals in a game (11), goals in a season (93) and career goals (219).
Tyler Barton, who was named to the Boys' Third Team, is the son of Bret and Lori Barton of Cedartown. Known as the Tigers' defensive stopper, Barton held Milton High's top player and All-American to a single goal during Darlington's first-round playoff game.
Patrick Smith, who was named to the Boys' Second Team, is the son of Ernie and Mary Smith of Rome. As goalie, he finished with 205 saves and a 68 percent save average. In 2005, Smith was named Darlington's Most Improved Player.
Harley Yancey, who was named to the Boys' Third Team, is the son of Dee and Molly Yancey of Rome. This season, he scored 55 goals, with 25 assists, and had 90 ground balls. Yancey was named the Tigers' Most Valuable Player in 2006.
