Five named to All-Area Soccer Teams

Five members of the varsity soccer teams earned All-Area honors.

Evan Echols ('11), a four-year starter, was the Tigers’ go-to finisher with 21 goals, including two in the postseason from his forward position. He is the son of Pam and David Echols of Rome.

Owen Greeson ('11), a leader from the midfield, scored eight total goals during his senior season, in which the Tigers made the playoffs. He is the son of Debbie and Dan Greeson of Rome.

Lucas Jennings ('11) served the Tigers well as goaltender. As the final line of defense, he had eight double-digit save games, including a 22-save effort. He is the son of Linda and Russ Jennings of Rome.

Margaret Hjort ('11), a striker, earned a spot on the All-Area team for the second straight year after notching eight goals and three assists this season. She is the daughter of Emily and Peter Hjort of Rome.

Anna Shea ('11), who has committed to play at Furman University, capped her strong prep career by notching 14 goals and 8 assists this season. She is the daughter of Janice and Tom Shea of Rome.

Honorable Mentions went to Baxter McWhorter, Rachael Turrentine, Katie Tullos and Sydney Greene.
