Fifth-graders are working with Lower School art teacher Katie Clotfelter to create a huge tile mural on a wall of the Thornwood House. These budding artists are painting unfinished bisque tiles for a fish design created by Clotfelter. After the tiles are fired Clotfelter will put the tiles up on the wall, which is located under the back steps of the building, where children will see it on a daily basis.
“The kids always seem to enjoy painting fish, so they are crazy about the whole thing. I hope to do more tile projects in the future,” Clotfelter said. “This is a huge undertaking but fun.”
