At the end of the year, the Middle School hits the road.

Sixth graders plan to visit the Huntsville Space and Rocket Center, Tuesday, April 27. The trip will include an IMAX film, a tour of the space center, and hands-on science experiments. The trip is part of their in-class study of space. English teachers also incorporated the experience s into a writing assignment in the classroom.

The seventh grade plans to travel to Atlanta Thursday, May 6, to visit the Holocaust Musuem, tying together their studies of Anne Frank and World War II in history classes. They will also tour Fernbank Science Center.

The eighth grade traveled to Honey Creek in Waverly, Ga., Monday, April 19, through Wednesday, April 21, where they studied marine biology and ecology. Classes were held on the beach and in the marsh.

The trips were designed to tie sight-seeing into knowledge the students have obtained in science classes. Follow-up papers written in English classes will wrap-up the studies.
