Ferguson to serve on accreditation team
By Maddie Chastain - Faculty
Chief Financial Officer Natalie Ferguson has been asked to be a member of the SAIS accreditation team that will visit The Westfield School in Perry, Ga., at the end of October.
Ferguson was named chief financial officer in 2022 after serving as controller since 2019 and a brief stint as assistant controller. A Certified Public Accountant, she holds a B.S. in Accounting and an M.B.A. from Berry College. Ferguson has more than two decades of accounting experience with public companies as well as non-profits. She and her husband, Brian, are the parents of Brock (’25) and Grady (’27).
Accreditation is based on a peer-review model that derives its greatest benefit from peer educators reviewing the school’s self-study and responses to standards/indicators evaluating them in light of the evidence gathered during the team visit.
The visit will last approximately 2.5 days, during which time Ferguson and the other members of the accreditation team will review the school’s compliance with SAIS standards/indicators and its self study; tour the school; and speak with a variety of stakeholders, including administrators, faculty/staff, parents, board members and students. At the conclusion of the visit, the team will create a visit report, which provides a recommendation regarding the school’s accreditation.
