Family Night Brings 400 Together

The feeding of the 400 was a tremendous success Thursday, Feb. 3, as Lower School families gathered together for Family Night Supper, in what Lower School Principal Mark Tayloe anticipates will become an annual event.
Families gathered on the playground for a prayer of dedication and safe play on the new facility, given by Tiger Pride, the Lower School’s parent organization. Following the playground dedication, fifth-grader Margot Catherine Wallis led everyone in the Lower School blessing. Margot Catherine’s graduation in May will mark the end of 14 consecutive years that her parents, CeCe and Tim Wallis, have had a child at the Lower School.
The evening continued in the gym with a spaghetti supper, followed by skits and songs by Señora Barbara Barfield and her students showing off their Spanish skills, and finally five rounds of Bingo, led by former third-grade teacher Barbara Cordle.
“The Family Night Supper was a wonderful event,” Tayloe said. “Emily Hjort and Allison Jones, who organized this special occasion, did a fabulous job. A special thanks also to Vicki Vincent, who coordinated Bingo. I really appreciate all that Tiger Pride did to sponsor an evening in which the entire focus was coming together and building community.”
