Fall Parents Weekend to be full of activity

Darlington School’s Fall Parents Weekend, to be held Oct. 1 to 3, will feature a variety of activities for students and their families.
Friday will kick off at 9 a.m. with a guest lecture by author Gerda Weissman Klein’s in the A.J. Huffman ’67 Memorial Athletic Center’s Van Es Arena. For more information on Klein, click here. Following Kein’s lecture, a pep rally will be held at Chris Hunter Stadium to get the community ready for Friday evening’s sporting events – a girls varsity volleyball match versus Pace Academy (at Pace) and a varsity football game against Pepperell at home.
An Upper School Parent Forum will be hosted by President Jim Hendrix and Headmaster David Rhodes in Dodd Banquet Room at 10:30 a.m. Friday. The Forum will be followed by lunch and a band performance on Morris Chapel Lawn. Parent/teacher conferences will begin at 1 p.m. and last through 4 p.m., at which time drama students will present the fall play Othello in Zelle Drama Room. After the play concludes, a picnic on Morris Chapel Lawn will precede the football game.
Saturday morning, a girls junior varsity volleyball tournament will be held in Huffman Center. Day and resident parent student/teacher conferences will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., to be followed by the Day and Resident Parent Lunch in Dodd Banquet Room. Othello will be presented at 8 p.m. in Zelle Drama Room.
Sunday will begin with a campus church service at 11:30 a.m. in Morris Chapel, to be followed by lunch at noon. Othello will be presented at 8 p.m. in Zelle Drama Room.
