Darlington School’s Fall Parents Weekend, to be held Sept. 30 to Oct. 2, will feature a variety of activities for students and their families.

Friday will kick off at 9 a.m. with a guest lecture by author Janisse Ray in the A.J. Huffman ’67 Memorial Athletic Center’s Van Es Arena. Following her lecture, a pep rally will be held at Chris Hunter Stadium to get the community ready for Friday evening’s varsity football game against Pepperell High School.

An Upper School Parent Forum will be hosted by Headmaster Tom Whitworth, Associate Headmaster David Rhodes and Dean of Students Greg Griffeth in Dodd Banquet Room at 11 a.m. Friday. The Forum will be followed by lunch and a band performance on Morris Chapel Lawn. Parent/teacher conferences will begin at 1 p.m. and last through 4 p.m., at which time drama students will present the fall play “Hedda Gabler” in Zelle Drama Room. After the play concludes, a picnic on Morris Chapel Lawn will precede the football game.

Saturday morning, parents are invited to attend the girls’ junior varsity volleyball tournament at 8:30 a.m. in the Huffman Center and a continental breakfast on Morris Chapel Lawn at 9 a.m. Day and resident parent student/teacher conferences will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., to be followed by the Day and Resident Parent Lunch in Dodd Banquet Room. “Hedda Gabler” will be presented at 8 p.m. in Zelle Drama Room.

Sunday will begin with a campus church service at 11:30 a.m. in Morris Chapel, followed by lunch at noon. “Hedda Gabler” will be presented at 8 p.m. in Zelle Drama Room.
