Fall concert vocalists sing about nothing

Much to Sing about Nothing, the Upper School fall choral concert featuring the ladies' and men's chorale and the concert choir, will be held on Thursday, Oct. 16, at 8 p.m., in Morris Chapel. According to Dan Bishop, vocal musical director, the concert theme evolved from the idea of presenting of program of nonsense songs that would span music history from the beginning of the 17th century and going through the 20th century.
Some of the more unusual titles are: I Bought Me a Cat, The Mouse Madrigal, Viva Tutti (Here's to Women), Old Horatius Had a Farm and Tobacco Is A Wasting Weed . “One might speculate from these titles that the concert will be very different and most interesting. That speculation would be most correct,” Bishop said. “Who would have ever thought that a composer would write a song with an actual burp placed at the end!”
