English professor has the 'write stuff'

Rome native and Darlington alumnus Carl Griffin is named an Outstanding Faculty Member by Georgia Perimeter College.
Carol H. Griffin, formerly of Rome, received the 2004 Alumni Association Outstanding Faculty Member Award at Georgia Perimeter College in Atlanta.
Paul Hudson, professor of history, and GPC Foundation Chair Al Byrd presented the award at GPC's fall convocation.
The award is given to a faculty member who exhibits innovation and enthusiasm in the classroom and is well respected in his or her discipline.
Griffin is an associate professor of English in the humanities department.
A graduate of Darlington School, Griffin attended the University of North Carolina, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in English. He is a graduate of the University of Florida in Gainesville, where he earned his Master of Arts in English and completed graduate work toward his doctorate.
Griffin retired from the college Tuesday after 28 years of service. He resides in Atlanta.
Georgia Perimeter College, the largest associate degree-granting college in the University System of Georgia, serves more than 22,000 credit and noncredit students through six locations in metro-Atlanta.
