Doctor dad enlightens fourth grade

Joe Burch, M.D., shared X-rays of a broken leg as part of his presentation to son Alex’s fourth grade science classes. The young scientists-in-training are studying light and other forms of energy on the electromagnetic spectrum.

Dr. Burch talked to the students about ultrasound and explained how radiation is produced. The students had recently studied sound and found the pictures using ultrasound very helpful.
