The Darlington Players spring production was the hilarious comedy “Dearly Departed,” by David Bottrell and Jessie Jones. Though death is not usually something to laugh about, this look at a southern family highlights the broad comedy that can result when family personalities clash over the death of its patriarch.

Veteran Darlington Players (seniors Brittany Pittman and Brandon Goodman and others) joined newcomers Timmy Pakron and Jody Milford, both sophomores, and others in presenting this very entertaining farce. Anything and everything was lampooned; the play is rated PG-13 for language and subject matter. But in the time-honored function of comedy, all was taken apart to be put back together.
