In this #SeniorSpotlight, get to know Thomas Monroe, a 12-year day student from Rome and member of Coosa Junior Golf Academy.
When you think of Darlington, what three words come to mind first?
Honor Above Everything
When you think of high school, what song comes to mind?
The Alma Mater
What's your favorite show to binge watch?
“The Office” or “Outer Banks”
What house are you a member of?
Moser House
What are you involved in at Darlington?
Golf Academy, varsity golf team
If you play sports, who is your favorite coach and why?
Coach Willerson because he always gives great talks before or after tournaments and tells us exactly what we need to hear.
What's your favorite place on campus?
The parking lot
Who's your favorite teacher and why?
Mr. Willerson because he goes out of his way to ask how everyone is and is good at explaining what we are talking about and helping when we don't understand. Also Mr. Hudson and Mr. Kinney because they are fun to talk to outside of the context of class and they have good teaching styles.
What's your favorite thing about Darlington?
The lake because it is a unique part of campus. It’s fun to go to with Mr. Kinney during Zoology to see what kinds of animals he can find.
Describe an experience that you've had at Darlington that you couldn't have had anywhere else.
Being a day leader in Moser House my junior year.
What are some of the ways you've grown since you first came to Darlington?
I have been able to make new relationships and learn about other cultures around me.
Where do you want to go to college and what is your dream job?
University of Georgia and I want to be a business manager/executive or something with business.
