Day #SeniorSpotlight: Shakeria Anderson

In this #SeniorSpotlight get to know Shakeria Anderson, a two-year day student from Rome who enjoys running and who participated in the Rome Floyd Chamber’s Leadership Rome program last year. 

When you think of high school, what song comes to mind?     

“Good Day” by Nappy Roots     

What's your favorite show to binge on Netflix?     

“Narcos” and “Outer Banks”

What house are you a member of?     

Thornwood House

What are you involved in at Darlington? 

Cross country, track and High School Leadership Rome 

If you play sports, who is your favorite coach and why?    

Coach Cox because he always pushes me hard in a good way.    

What's your favorite place on campus and why?    

I love the lake because it is beautiful and serene.    

Who's your favorite teacher and why?   

Mr. Willerson because he is passionate about what he teaches and always is open to discussion.    

What's your favorite thing about Darlington?    

My favorite thing about Darlington is the schedule and the diversity.     

Describe an experience that you've had at Darlington that you couldn't have had anywhere else.     

I love the community. I have amazing friends, teachers and other staff that greet me with welcoming arms. I have a community that is always there to help in any form or fashion.     

What are some of the ways you've grown since you first came to Darlington?     

Since being at Darlington I have learned responsibility and good time management.     

Where do you want to go to college and what is your dream job?    

I want to go to college at Howard University to study international business, but later attend law school to pursue my dream of being a corporate attorney.
