In this #SeniorSpotlight, get to know Charlie Curlee, an eight-year day student from Rome who loves to hang out and joke around with friends in The Growl.
When you think of Darlington, what three words come to mind first?
Community, caring, amazing
When you think of high school, what song comes to mind?
“Fly Me to the Moon” by Frank Sinatra
What's your favorite show to binge watch?
“The Office”
What house are you a member of?
Summerbell House
What are you involved in at Darlington?
My freshman year, I was involved with basketball, golf and was the drummer in “Fiddler on the Roof.”
What's your favorite place on campus and why?
The Growl because I practically own it.
Who's your favorite teacher and why?
Mr. Hudson - he is very relaxed and really funny. Mr. Evans - he is very smart and knows what he's doing and he tells a lot of jokes.
What's your favorite thing about Darlington?
The freedom and the trust we are given.
Describe an experience that you've had at Darlington that you couldn't have had anywhere else.
Being chastised by Big Chris in The Growl.
What are some of the ways you've grown since you first came to Darlington?
I think I have grown physically and mentally. Mentally, I have become more confident in myself and comfortable with who I am.
Where do you want to go to college and what is your dream job?
I still have not really figured out college but it is between JSU and MSU, and if I get into UGA that is where I will go. My dream job would either be a politician or a lawyer, or a gamer.
