In this #SeniorSpotlight, get to know Amelia Whitefield, an eight-year day student from Rome who serves as president of the “Y” Cabinet.
When you think of Darlington, what three words come to mind first?
Community, honor, respect
When you think of high school, what song comes to mind?
“Fergalicious” by Fergie and will.i.am
What's your favorite show to binge watch?
“Friends”
What house are you a member of?
Regester House
What are you involved in at Darlington?
President of the “Y” Cabinet, Regester House day leader, Tiger Expert, tennis, lifeguard for the swim team
If you play sports, who is your favorite coach and why?
Mr. Owens because he makes tennis fun!
What's your favorite place on campus and why?
The patio because I like to sit outside in the summertime.
Who's your favorite teacher and why?
Mrs. Owens, Mrs. Sikes, Mr. Hudson and Mrs. Haynes have been my favorite teachers. All of these teachers have been there for me and helped me grow as a person and also academically.
What's your favorite thing about Darlington?
The opportunity for responsibility and a close relationship with my teachers.
Describe an experience that you've had at Darlington that you couldn't have had anywhere else.
I am very thankful for the opportunity of being “Y” Cabinet president and trying to make a positive influence in my community.
What are some of the ways you've grown since you first came to Darlington?
I have gotten better at organization and setting goals for myself.
Where do you want to go to college and what is your dream job?
Either Auburn or Samford and I want to study speech pathology.
