Day #SeniorSpotlight: Allie Cordell

A Darlington student is made up of many things. None of which is average. We help our students develop their interests, passions and pursuits, because we believe every individual has something to contribute. We also believe that only when you're 100% you, are you 100% Darlington. 

Here at Darlington, every student’s path is different. We think that's a good thing. 

Let’s get to know Allie Cordell, a 14-year day student from Rome who recently organized a very successful diaper and baby wipes drive to help mothers and children through the community’s Young Lives Rome Ministry.
                
When you think of Darlington, what three words come to mind first?    
Honor, Hard Work, and Fun!!!    

What song reminds you of high school?     
“Good Days” - SZA     

What's your favorite show to binge watch?     
“The Office”

What's your favorite restaurant in Rome?     
Las Palmas    

What house are you a member of?     
Thornwood

What are you involved in at Darlington?
Volleyball (captain), basketball, Spanish Club (leader), Advancement Ambassadors, Senior Ventures

If you play sports, who is your favorite coach and why?    
Coach Clark - he made EVERYONE laugh every day during volleyball season    .

What's your favorite place on campus and why?    
The Zelle Patio - Especially during fall/spring when I get to talk to my friends and it is SO pretty outside!      

Who's your favorite teacher and why? 
Mr. Hudson because of his sense of humor and he knows how to make class fun while also learning. 

What’s your favorite thing about Darlington?    
The lake during the springtime! We have such a beautiful campus! 

Describe an experience that you've had at Darlington that you couldn't have had anywhere else.     
During Zoology, we went on a nature walk and Mr. Kinney had a HUGE turtle he found in the lake, and we got to release it back.     

What are some of the ways you've grown since you first came to Darlington?    
I have become much more comfortable with making new friends and have found it so fun to learn from teammates/friends who come from entirely different cultures all around the world.     

What is your dream job?    
Oral surgeon or dentist
