Darlington to host 'Techtonics' a cappella performance

Darlington's Fine Arts Booster Club will host a performance by Techtonics, the male a cappella group from the Imperial College in London, on Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. in Morris Chapel.
"This group of young men performs songs that are both classical and Top 40 hits set to their own arrangements," said Amie Sabourin, president of the Fine Arts Booster Club. "We are hoping that we will pack the house for a wonderful evening of entertainment on the Darlington Campus."
Founded in 2008, Techtonics is well established in the London, UK and global a cappella music scenes. The group has completed tours around the UK, to Croatia and, most recently, to the USA. They also released their debut album "Groundbreaker" in 2012, which was extremely well received, gaining international acclaim and awards.
Select performances in the last few years have included competing live on Croatian TV as part of the "Vocal Marathon" festival and performing live on set for the new series of an upcoming Sky 1 comedy. They also hold regular concerts and social events at Imperial College.
Seating for this performance is limited, so please plan to arrive early. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
