The Atlanta-based Goizueta Foundation has awarded a $750,000 grant to Darlington School to establish and endow need-based scholarship assistance for Hispanic and Latino students whose families currently reside in the United States.
“Thanks to The Goizueta Foundation’s generosity and leadership, we will be able to strengthen our ongoing efforts to build a diverse learning community at Darlington,” said Darlington School President David V. Hicks. “The Goizueta Foundation’s grant is a wonderful expression that supports and enhances our mission to prepare promising young people for college and for life. This grant will touch many lives, and we are thrilled with this great opportunity.”
The Goizueta Foundation awarded the grant following a grant application process that included a visit to the School, during which foundation members talked with teachers and with students at Darlington. At the conclusion of their visit, they made a point of remarking on the ownership and pride they felt from the students at Darlington.
Roberto C. Goizueta established The Goizueta Foundation in 1992 to provide financial assistance to educational and charitable institutions.
