Darlington Middle School Earns Distinction

Darlington Middle School has been named a National School of Distinction for the fourteenth consecutive year by Duke University's Talent Identification Program (TIP). Each year Duke University, Durham, N. C., selects seventh-graders from across the country to take the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). Twenty-eight Darlington seventh-graders qualified to take the standard college entrance exam in January 2000 because they made in the 95 percentile or better on certain standardized tests, such as the Iowa Test of Basic Skills.

Seven of the 28 Darlington Middle School students qualified for state recognition based on their SAT scores. Students earning state recognition are Ed Bonnyman, Brian Eberhard, Davis Grizzard, Jonathan Lane, Kirk Riedling, Zach Ware, and Jack Zampolin.
