Dan Bishop was a presenter at the Georgia Music Educators Association Conference (GMEA) in Savannah, Ga., January 25 – 27. He was chosen along with two other choral directors to discuss various topics that concern all choral musicians at all grade levels. Bishop also serves as the repertoire and standards chair for the Georgia division of the American Choral Director’s Association (ACDA). He will be responsible for organizing a high school honor choir for the state convention to be held at Spivey Hall in July.
Bishop has also been named director of this year’s Seventh District Honor Chorus and was recently elected to his second term as state chair of the American Choral Director Association. The responsibility of the chair is to set the standards to be followed by all school choruses in Georgia.
