Darlington and Community Align to Combat Drugs

Darlington has aligned with the Floyd county and Rome city school systems, and St. Mary’s School to form a new civic organization in the community: FAD, Floyd Against Drugs. “We hope to involve our entire community in the fight against poor choices that lead to drugs,” Jill Pate, Darlington director of personal counseling, said.
On Monday, Jan. 22, FAD is hosting an event to bring the entire community together. Milton Creagh, an internationally renowned motivational speaker and expert on adolescent drug use, will speak at the Rome City Auditorium at 7 p.m. He will share a wealth of information to show that this is not just a problem in the inner cities, but, one in our very own neighborhoods. “We will learn about the war at hand and how to fight back,” Pate explained.
